92-94 Points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, January 2019
The 2017 Mazoyeres-Chambertin Grand Cru offers up a classy bouquet of cassis, rich soil tones, smoked meats, rose petal and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine transcends even elevated expectations with its striking elegance. Full-bodied and unusually velvety, its deep core of fruit is framed by rich structuring tannins that reveal not a trace of asperity, concluding with a mouthwateringly mordant finish. It’s clearly time the Mazoyeres received more of the limelight at this address. There are four barrels this year.
